The Wonderful World of Web Development

Provided by

You probably use the web every day, but what do you know ABOUT the web?

We’ll dive into everything about the web: from how websites are hosted and how they show up on our browsers, to building our own sites and posting our code on GitHub so anyone can see it!

We’ll learn about the three basic building blocks of the web—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—using online code editors like CodePen that let us see our sites as we work. We’ll work with text-based code editors just like professional web developers and use Chrome developer tools to troubleshoot.

By the end of this class, you’ll have a website to show off your projects to your friends and family! Students will also be visiting local tech companies and working with year-long mentors who work in STEM fields.

$2000/student ($666/week) lunch and snack included
