Program Name

Lussier LOFT Middle School Summer Program

Organization
Program Description

Our summer program provides an opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities which aim to empower youth in education, health & wellness, and community involvement. We will enjoy all that Madison and the surrounding areas offer by getting youth outside and active. This year our summer program will use a project-based learning model in which students dynamically explore real-world challenges to gain a better connection to the world through hands on projects they choose with support from staff and community. Our programs also include Girls Inc. and Young Men's group programming who will take a camping trip to Wildcat Mountain as we strengthen the connections of youth in program to peers and the Earth! In addition our Fit Youth Initiative program (FYI) gives youth and their families the opportunity to stay active and healthy through nutrition education, sports leagues, gardening, outdoor active options and collaborations with four community center partners.
We also offer an additional enrollment program geared towards youth entering Middle School called Garden FIT. Youth engage in team building and leadership skill building while learning the art and science of gardening and healthy living.
