Owls - After School Program
University Avenue Discovery Center After-School Program offers after-school care for children ages 5-10 from school dismissal until 5:30 p.m. In addition to after-school care, we also offer full-day care when MMSD is closed as our schedule allows (see below for listing of dates). Our licensed and accredited program is designed to offer a relaxing and inspiring space for all of our students. This program is based on the needs of our students, they have the choice to work on short or long-term projects, get involved in team sports, sit back and listen to stories and to enjoy outside time on our playground. Older students have an option to participate in a leadership program focused on solving problems within the community. Nutritious whole foods are prepared for snack onsite by our own chef with many ingredients sourced from Peacefully Organics Produce. Students participate in weekly yoga class on Mondays and for an additional fee may participate in Family Engagement Opportunities, Piano, French Language or Spanish Language classes. Our program has a small group size of 25 students maximum with a low 1:9 teacher:child ratio.The After-School Program is led by three experienced professionals with a background in Education.Wisconsin Shares and UW Child Care Tuition Assistance Program (CCTAP) funding are accepted.
