Program Description

MSCR Afterschool Programs
MSCR offers a variety of enriching activities at all MMSD high schools. Afterschool clubs are a great way to build a connection to the school day and meet new people.

High School Sports Leagues
Extramural teams practice one night a week and play games on Saturdays. These teams are specifically for non-WIAA participants. Sports include volleyball and basketball.

Leader in Training Program (formerly called Junior Leader Program)
This is a great way for high schoolers to get a summer job! Applications are typically due around February 1. Successful applicants go through an extensive training program provided by MSCR, UW-Extension, Edgewood College, MATC and the UW.

Upon successful completion of the training program, students are placed in a paid summer position within one of MSCR’s summer elementary programs. Trainings are held on Saturdays mid-March to early May. Applications are available at MSCR, as well as each high school’s guidance office. Contact MSCR Rec. Specialist for current application dates.
